A very important rule before painting your walls is to take a damp cloth and wipe the walls to make sure all the dirt and dust is off before the paint goes on.
After that's done, get tape from any hardware store that is specifically for painting walls, it is sticky enough to stay on the wall but not too much to rip of the paint when you take it off the walls. Using the tape, outline all the borders and where you would not want the paint to go on. (ex. closet doors, outlets, ceiling..etc)

Also, make sure to cover the floors with news paper to protect the floors from the paint. When those things are done, you are ready to start! I got a paint kit at Home Depot that comes with 2 rolls, a roller holder, a brush, and the tray. (Those probably aren't the actual names for the items, I'm just not sure what they're called and that was the first thing that came in mind :p )
Start with the brush and outline right under the tape because the roller will not reach the top and corners..
When you're done outlining you can use the roller from then on to fill in the rest. One thing I forgot to mention, the paint I bought already has everything in it and so I did not need to prime the walls or do anything, I could just proceed to painting right away. Make sure when you buy the paint that it's all included unless you want to do this 3 hour job twice.
Whatever is not painted you can fill in with the brush later on. Definitely wear something comfortable and something you don't mind getting dirty, because you will be doing gymnastics trying to reach certain corners and paint WILL eventually end up on you.. I kept a piece of cloth in my pocket because I kept going over the tape and when the paint it still wet you can quickly wipe it off before it's too late. Also to wipe off dirt if it's in the way.
After just a few exhausting hours, I was finally done. For today that is.. Tomorrow it's time for the blue to come in. The sections on the walls are the ones that will be coloured blue. Not sure if I'm going to add another coat of paint, I'm gonna let it dry overnight and enjoy sleeping on the couch, and see whether it needs another coat or if I can start the blue. So far everything is going the way it should and hopefully tomorrow will be the same so I'll be able to get the painting done by Sunday afternoon.
Well, that's all until tomorrow, if any of you have any questions regarding anything at all, please feel free to ask me and I will do my best to answer them and hopefully help out.
P.S. this was my first time ever painting a wall... I think I did an O.K job :)
Ciao!
